I’ve been busily beavering away to get a new look up for the website. I’ve streamlined some bits, moved some other stuff all to make it better for you guys to use.
Let us know your thoughts. I’ll probably be making more minor modifications as time goes on.
May I suggest a little adjustment for the design upload form? I’ve noticed, that once you make a mistake, ie file too big, the upload form is empty when you want to try again. So all your title, description etc is gone. If that happens a few time in a row, people might give up. Its just a little thing that maybe can make the site easier to get into for people?
That sounds like a good idea - do you know anyone who’s backed out for that reason?
Not that I know of, but someone on emptees mentioned not being able to submit, and the upload form behavior may have led them to that conclusion?
(By the way: I also noticed usernames with an ‘ in them being buggy)
Some of my friends have had trouble making a profile.
Every time they typed in their birthdates they were told the date was invalid.
Sometimes they tried 15 times with all sorts of dates.
some got through, others gave up.
This might not be very helpful in attracting new people to your site.
@gumbolimbo - I think the problems with forms and usernames have been fixed now, but if not let me know.
@lonkiponk - Sorry that your friends have had problems signing up. Are they entering the dates in the right format?
@lonkiponk - I’ve modified our signup page so that it makes more sense now hopefully.

^ I’ve had that birth date issue, just now. No matter what I type in an error comes up with a default date 01/12/1999?
just to add, all I intended to do was add an avatar, not actually change my birth date.
just worked my way around it by deleting the default setting for birth date, and leaving blank.
@garo I’m assuming that was when updating your account, rather than signing up right? I’ll try and update the options in that page also.
@garo this error was a repercussion of updating the main signup page - hopefully should be sorted now too.
